Dr. Maria Solomou is a Researcher and Instructional Designer at CARDET and a Learning Scientist at the Cyprus University of Technology, focusing on elearning and gaming. She also serves as a co-chair of the JURE2015 (JUnior REsearchers of EARLI) conference. She holds a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Instructional Systems Technologies from Indiana University-Bloomington. Maria engages in work that focuses on designing interactive trajectories within online social spaces, 2D and 3D. She investigates ways of intentionally designing learning trajectories for people to be critically reflexive and actively engaged in practices. For that, she has developed a framework of elements for designing within online social learning and gaming spaces. Her work also regards design, delivery, and assessment of face-to-face, blended and online instruction in international and diverse settings.
