Dr. Michalinos Zembylas is Associate Professor of Educational Theory and Curriculum Studies at the Open University of Cyprus. His research interests are in the areas of educational philosophy and curriculum theory, and his work focuses on exploring the role of emotion and affect in curriculum and pedagogy. He is particularly focused in how affective politics intersect with issues of social justice pedagogies, intercultural and peace education, and citizenship education. Zembylas is the author of numerous articles and books. His latest books are: (with Zvi Bekerman) Teaching contested narratives: Identity, memory and reconciliation in peace education and beyond (Cambridge University Press, 2012) and Integrated education in conflicted societies. (with C. McGlynn, & Z. Bekerman, New York: Palgrave, MacMillan, 2013). His upcoming book is entitled Emotion and traumatic conflict: Re-claiming healing in education (Oxford University Press).
